“A Body Shaped Like an Hors D’Oeuvre”
…was how my friend described his uncle. “A big tomato body stuck with tooth-pick legs.”
For obvious reasons, I never forgot this simile. And while it is exaggeration, there is some truth in the image for those of us whose ancestors come from Western Europe.
Case in point: I was one of six best man at my best friend’s wedding. Right after I texted him my pant measurements for the uniform, he called me to double check the numbers were right. All the other guys, mostly Native Hawaiian mix, had much shorter pant legs and wider waists.
Those toothpick legs, they can be a thing for us white guys.
Turns out Bjorn has them too.
